Like and Subscribe… How About Follow Me… He Said It First

How many of y’all have watched a social media video and, at some point, heard someone say “Like and Subscribe” so you won’t miss the next one?

I would say you’ll never hear that from me… but, actually, you just did. So there’s that. I promise I try not to do it the way those other guys do. 😀

I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with it. Don’t get me wrong. It’s just that I know a Guy who did it WAY better than anyone else (that pun will make more sense in a second). He did it first, and He didn’t just make the mold — He broke it so thoroughly that no one can ever duplicate what He accomplished. So I’m not even gonna try.

Christ was able to simply walk up to Simon and Andrew, then James and John, and say “Follow Me.” They dropped their nets and became fishers of men instead of fishermen.

Later on, Saul — a man who had made a career out of hunting down followers of “The Way” — was on his way to Damascus when he was first blinded by, and then saw, the light of Christ. He became Paul, the most prolific writer in the New Testament, and ultimately gave his life for the same cause he used to mock.

Can you imagine someone on the tube of you simply saying “Follow me” and half the earth answering, “Sounds good”? Kinda puts it into perspective, doesn’t it?

Just a thought from a guy who not only pressed “like” and “subscribe,” but follows Him each and every day.

Bible Verses

Questions

If you had to build a wall of who you follow, would Christ be on it today? (No judgments.)
