What We Need

Robert Frost may have had the “Road Not Taken,” but, evidently, we did NOT 😄 …. Ya know, if i was a salty kinda of guy, this could be a totally different kind of post about a 10 hour drive taking over 13, but, that’s not me 🙂 … Instead, Toni and I found the fun in it (well, mostly) 😄

At one point the words actually came out of my mouth: “If we see frogs or locusts, there won’t be much of a surprise!” But we’re here now — safe, hugs all around, and while it’s not exactly what we wanted, we met folks along the way we may not have met if everything went perfectly. So I’m pretty sure it was exactly what we needed.

After a couple hours of sleep (i’m weird, i don’t sleep a lot!) …. I’ve had time to reflect, and, our journey up here is a PERFECT example of how life is, when you think about it … I’m not talking about THIS journey specifically, but, all of the trips we’ve taken here … Some have been 9 hours and perfect, yesterday was, well, like i said, frogs and locusts short of a red sea parting …

Every trip is different because life throws different things at us, but, through it all, HE is with us … At one point yesterday, we had been on a stretch of highway for 2 hours and traveled about 25 miles due to a tractor trailer deciding to do some off-roading (it looked like everyone was OK, except the truck) … So, my mid-50’s bladder needed a break and there was a “Buc-ee’s” ahead … It looked like the entire state of Georgia had the same idea, but, as we pulled in, there was exactly ONE spot that opened up just as we got to it ….

You can say co-incidence … There were 500 cars ahead and behind us …

Like i say to the kids in my class … Following the Lord doesn’t mean “rainbows and unicorns” at every turn … But, it means that at every turn you have a loving Shepherd that has always promised to be WITH you …. When the road is easy and when the road is hard …

Bible Verses

Psalm 23 / Matthew 11:25-30

Questions

Do you have any “Buc-ee’s” type experiences you’d like to share where other’s may say co-incidence but you feel otherwise ???
