Back Seat Spirit Driving

now i’ve bet y’all’ve heard of Jesus take the Wheel but have ya heard of a backseat Holy Spirit driver 🙂 …. lemme give you THREE, yes THREE examples with the last one just happenin’ this past Sunday … now, first, headin’ into the wayback machine we were goin to visit some youngens a couple decades ago and were going to take them out to lunch … now, at the time neither Toni nor i had a single kid video song in our collection let alone a cd (yes, it was that long ago!) when these youngen’s got into the car … it was away from home, so, we weren’t even on our own “turf” as far as known radio stations, but, when we asked these little people what they’d like to hear, our heart sank when the answer was “rap” … ummm … “dj jazzy cec-a-lot” i am not, so, again, “new here”, but, trusting in God, we turned on our satellite radio to try and find a channel the kids would like and, would you believe, the contemporary christian station we ALREADY had on was playing a rap song … and they played another after that (the first two we’d EVER heard them play) which was the time it took for us to drive to the lunch place … next story, we were pulling our RV one day (first time our son was in the truck with us pulling it) and it was a “frog strangler” kinda rain goin in … really comin’ down … he was really nervous, heck, so was i … but, the Spirit led me to start saying the Lord’s Prayer … at the end of the prayer, the rain stopped … full stop … our son just said “wow” ….. now, just this past Sunday on our way to church, Toni was listening to a devotional and it was an adult one, you know, big words that a two year old definitely wouldn’t get … our grandson was playing with his dinosaur and tractor in his car seat while we were getting ready to get on the interstate while listening to this devotional, which ended in a “charge” for us to go into the world on Palm Sunday …. as the lady in the devotional said this, lil’bit popped up out of nowhere and stated “READY ….” … now, “seeing isn’t believing but believing iS SEEiNG” … and someone NOT in the Faith can brush these off as coincidences but we look at these as our loving and living God actively and lovingly encouraging us each and every day … not only through the traditional ways to find Him but through everyday opportunities to see and feel His presence … so, here’s hoping today YOU TOO can make a joyful noise unto the Lord and see Him in whatever you’re doing 🙂 …
